Under 75TH Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Health Department organized World Blood Donors Day 2022 on 14th July. Where Different activities have took place.
The Health Department collected 35 units of blood during the blood donation camp organised at the district Civil Hospital on the World Blood Donation Day on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner Monish Kumar inaugurated the camp, while Dr Seema, Civil Surgeon, apprised the audience about the importance of donating blood that saves previous lives at the time of need like road accidents. The Deputy Commissioner further said that blood donation saves millions of lives each year in both routine and emergency situations, permits increasingly complex medical and surgical interventions and dramatically improves the life expectancy and quality of life of patients with a variety of acute and chronic conditions. Patients who require transfusion as parts of their clinical management have the right to expect that sufficient blood will be available to meet their needs and to receive the safest blood possible,
Non-Government Organisations involved in blood donation, Bhagat Pooran Singh Blood Donation Society, Patti, Saath, Red Cross Society, Knowledge Villa Society, Khalsa Blood Unity and Guru Arjun Dev Ji Society were honoured on the occasion.A poster-making competition too was organised to spread awareness on blood donation and the first three winners were honoured by the administration.
