PWD Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO Lays Foundation Stone for Narli-Chhina Bidhi Chand Road Repair
Khemkaran (Tarntaran), September 15 :
Punjab Public Works and Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO today laid the foundation stone for the special repair work of the Narli-Chhina Bidhi Chand road, in the presence of Khemkaran Constituency MLA Sarwan Singh Dhun.
The 6.64 km long and 18 feet wide road will be repaired by the Public Works Department, Building and Road Branch, at a cost of Rs. 3.46 crore. The project is expected to be completed within six months.
“The repair of this critical road will greatly benefit the people and farmers of the area, providing seamless transportation of crops to the market,” said Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO. “This road connects the historic town of Chhina Bidhi Chand and Narli with Khalra-Bhikhiwand road and nearby villages with Khalra Dana Mandi.”
The last repair of this road was done in 2012. The Minister assured that the contractor will also provide maintenance services for five years after construction.
“The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan, is committed to facilitating people from all walks of life,” said Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO. “The deployment of the Road Safety Force on roads is a significant step towards preventing road accidents and saving precious lives.”
Constituency MLA Sarwan Singh Dhun emphasized the importance of this road for local residents and villagers, stating that its repair will provide essential road transport facilities.
