The State Election Commission, Punjab, has announced the schedule for the updation of electoral rolls for the upcoming General Elections to Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis, set to be held by October 05, 2025.
District Election officer -cum-Deputy Commissioner Tarn Taran Shri Rahul stated that the electoral rolls, previously published on March 03, 2025, will now be updated with a qualifying date of September 01, 2025, to ensure all eligible voters are included. As per Section 28 of the Punjab State Election Commission Act, 1994, eligible voters must be at least 18 years of age on the qualifying date and ordinarily resident in a constituency. Further added that form no. I ,II,III can also be downloaded from the website of state Election commission of Punjab http://sec.punjab.gov.in/pub and Website of NIC https://tarntaran.nic.in/ apart from this ERO-cum-Sub divisional Magistrate of District Tarn Taran also directed to paste Form no. I(Claim application for inclusion of name in the electoral roll ),Form no. II (Objection to inclusion of name), Form no. III(Objection to particulars in an entry ) at suitable places of there offices and BDPO offices so that eligible voter from from all works of life can access these forms easily to make their claims .He added that the draft Publication of existing electoral rolls: August 19. People can file claims and objections from August 20, to August 27, 2025 and same will be disposed of by Sep 01, 2025.
The final Publication of Electoral Rolls: September 03, 2025.
District Election officer -cum-Deputy Commissioner Tarn Taran directed all electoral registration officers-cum-Sub Divisional Magistrates to strictly adhere to this schedule so that all eligible voters in Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis constituencies can participate in the process.
